Oliver Chimney Sweep is a family business, run by husband and wife team Christian and Susan Oliver.
Christian and Susan are both registered with the Guild of Master Sweeps and are fully insured.
Christian has been an established sweep for over 18 years, with a wide range of knowledge in domestic including thatches and commercial works.
Susan has been part of the business ever since the company was started, becoming a sweep in her own right alongside her husband. Serving the south coast running from between Chichester to New Forest up to Winchester, Meon Valley and Midhurst.
The third member of the team is Nancy, who is seen driving about the local area proving age is just a number as she’s a 1959 Bedford CA van restored in 2023. She carries out her standard duties as well as more than a few photo opportunities and is a good conversation piece with people.

What We Do

Terms & Conditions
We believe in being clear and upfront with all our customers. We have found the following information has helped new customers whom we haven’t seen before.
A. Notice of cancellation must be made 48 hours before appointment, within 48 hours will incur a charge of £35 per fire.
B. Payment is at the time of visit unless agreed before the visit. Please note we do not take card machine payments.
All working areas must be cleared out of all personal items and the firebox itself is to be emptied — no fuel or ash etc. to remain pre-visit.
Fire to be allowed to go cold. Not allowing this will incur a charge of £35 per fire.
We are happy to carry out repairs where necessary, but please remind us or tell us before the visit so time can be allowed. In some cases there will be an extra cost.
We will always do our best, but we cannot be held responsible for any damage during the sweep due to wear, tear and user misuse to liners, pots, guards, bricks or glass or any other item not listed, ultimately it is the client’s responsibility.
Safety At Home
Burning of good quality seasoned wood is highly recommended for the safety of your appliance and the health of the planet.
Wood should read no more than 20% moisture on a moisture meter. This should be stored in a dry but airy store off the ground, so it does not soak up moisture and allows it to breathe.
